COLLECTIVE is an evening of dance co-presented by Madi Hicks’ Moving Forward Collective and BODYSONNET.

COLLECTIVE premiered at Arts on Site on May 4-5 2023.

The evening includes performances by Chase Buntrock, Zack Gonder, Madison Hicks, Moscelyne ParkeHarrison, and Whitney Schmanski.

About Moving Forward Dance Collective

Moving Forward empowers artists through educational programs and creative opportunities. Through workshops, choreography festivals, performances, and more, we give participants an unforgettable, invaluable, and inspirational experience through the power of dance and art. Moving Forward has three branches of its organization: Education, Emerging Artist, and The Collective. The Education program focuses on providing affordable training opportunities for artists 15 and up. The Emerging Artist program provides creative opportunities to emerging choreographers such as choreographic festivals. The Collective is a project based professional company showcasing original works by Madison and her collaborators.

About BODYSONNET

Founded in 2019, BODYSONNET is a collective of contemporary dance makers and performers committed to making work in non-traditional spaces. BODYSONNET initiates projects in an array of communities that provide locals with unique and inclusive performance experiences. While the collective’s most fluent language is dance, the work also demonstrates the intersection of many mediums and enacts zero waste consciousness in an entire process. To create highly collaborative work, BODYSONNET employs horizontal working practices and considers every artist in the room equal parts dancer and creator.
